Are you fighting a losing battle with your lawn?

When I saw an "as seen on TV" product called Patch Perfect it seemed like something we should try out for our next "Real Deal" test.
In advertising it claims to be like "grass seed on steroids." It costs $19.95 a bag.
Thanks to our climate, the recent drought, and tough Tennessee clay, growing grass can be difficult.
It seems that 6 News has several gardeners in that situation, because when I brought Patch Perfect into the newsroom I had countless volunteers offering to help test the seed on their own "troubled" lawns.
I discovered that Patch Perfect requires daily watering, so I decided to test the product close to home, literally, in my backyard.
With a 75 pound lab, our yard proved to be a great place to test the product's most touted claim of neutralizing pet urine. Our yard had several bald patches where, after two years, we had about given up growing grass.
I started the test almost three weeks ago, using both Patch Perfect and a traditional fescue grass seed. I covered four areas.
The Patch Perfect commercial claims its special seed will grow without soil anywhere, even on cement block, so I tested it on a block, too.
After just 10 days the Patch Perfect seeds germinated on our lawn, jsut as the product claims it will. But the regular grass seed did too.
The commercial for Patch Perfect promises a grass explosion, so I waited to see if that would happen. I'll wait to share the results in my report. If you are fighting the battle for that perfect lawn, you'll want to check it out.
